Cyril Irvine, BSc. (Hons) Osteopathic Medicine. D.O. N.D. RGN.
Also known as: With a name like Cyril who needs a Nickname -
Claim to fame: Nothing that can be revealed to the public!
I like my tea: Very strong; ”So you could trot a mouse on it” as they say back home in County Fermanagh.
Cyril in a nutshell:
Cyril was a qualified Cardio-thoracic Intensive Care Nurse working in a busy London teaching hospital when he first became familiar with Osteopathy as a patient.
The occupational demands of the profession mean that three out of four Nurses experience a work related injury during their career. Successful treatment fostered an interest which eventually culminated in enrolment at the British College of Osteopathiy.
Following graduation Cyril consolidated and built upon his practice by undertaking a number of courses including Medical Acupuncture, Low Level Laser Therapy and Lower Limb Biomechanics.
Travel has been a major influence on Cyril's life and he has been fortunate to be able to indulge his interest, taking several year long trips to Africa, Australia, Southeast Asia and India.
Cyril describes his transition from I.C.U. Nurse to Osteopath as another example of late development, he adds that "apparently puberty will have its moments".
